Last night I met a friend to play with our cameras at the new Vienna University of Business and Economics campus. If you're at all interested in architectural photography, this place is an absolute must. The street photography options during the day and night (at least during the semester) are also plentiful. The campus is really a living place with so many ways to approach it with your camera - excellent designed and executed.
Before going out I decided to try and look online for some inspiration but did not find much in the way that I liked (mostly event photos and bad HDR). I was actually really disappointed going into it because I don't typically do architectural photography at all, so it would have been nice to get inspired from someone that had worked the same subject before. Oh well.
I suppose not finding much was better because I approached things with a completely open mind. When we got there I simply sat down on some stairs in the middle of the campus and just looked around, waiting for the sun to finish setting, occasionally raising my camera to my eye to check the perspective of an idea I had been playing with in my mind. After the sun set, I unpacked the tripod and set to work with my friend, walking around the campus and experimenting. Here's what I put together:
